  • Amici's East Coast Pizzeriasee menu
Amici's gluten-free pizza is great. Unfortunately, it's not available at all locations. It's available at quite a few, though: Dublin, Menlo Park, Mountain View, San Jose, San Francisco (Lombard St.), and Vacaville.
  • Annette's Gluten-Free Bakery
  • Azna Gluten Free
I had heard good things about Azna, and finally got to try their products at the Gluten-Free Cooking Spree in San Francisco. They were well worth the wait! Vegan and gluten-free, their treats are packed with flavor.

  • Cascal – ask for the list of gluten-free items from the kitchen
It's always a pleasure to visit Cascal, and the wait staff takes excellent care of me. There are many gluten-free dishes on the menu, and they'll work with you to modify others as needed.
  • Colibrí
  • Crepes Cafe
The savory crepes are made of buckwheat and are naturally gf — and quite tasty.
  • Frito Misto
  • Golden Wok
  • Green Papaya
137 N Santa Cruz Ave., Los Gatos    408-395-9115
While not educated about celiac disease, the wait staff will generally work with you to find something gluten-free. I recommend the spicy shrimp & calamari salad.
  • Mangiamosee menu
I visited Mangiamo while I was up in Sonoma County and it was lovely. The pizza crust was slightly chewy, but flavorful and topped with a tasty sauce and lots of cheese. The beet salad was wonderful, and the hot artichoke dip (served with gluten-free crackers) was excellent. I'll be back.
  • Mariposa
Mariposa has always made amazing gluten-free products, especially biscotti. Now that they've opened a cafe, life is even better.

I really enjoy visiting Spica when I'm in California, as it's the only place I know of to get a sandwich with actual bread. The staff is very nice and the owner regularly plies me with free samples of some of the gluten-free desserts. If you're in Silicon Valley, be sure to stop by.
